MORE BACKGROUND INFO BELOW
From a young age, Dan has been making music and performing at live shows and events. Back when in an original band, Dan had the opportunity to perform with many different artists such as The Plain White T's, Season 7 Winner of American Idol David Cook, Bowling for Soup, Aaron Carter, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and many others. During this time, Dan was working on improving his performance skills, vocal ability, and gaining more knowledge of the music business--skills which would be imperative for what he would want to do in the near future.
After being on the road for a couple years playing shows up and down the east coast, Dan parted ways with his original band to pursue other things, feeling somewhat "stuck in a rut". Having always wanting to pursue and achieve a college degree, Dan made the choice to attend Rutgers University to get more formal training in both business and music. While at Rutgers, Dan pursued courses related in business and the arts in order to help arm himself with more knowledge and skills that would eventually lead him to work as an audio and radio imaging producer at the largest radio company on the planet, Sirius XM Radio. While at Rutgers, Dan worked very closely with and participated in Rutgers Dance Marathon, the largest student-run philanthropic event in the state of New Jersey whose mission is to raise money for Embrace Kids Foundation. EKF is an organization that provides financial support for the non-medical needs to kids and families that deal with cancer and blood-related disorders.
Once beginning work with Sirius XM Radio, Dan started to quickly build up his network by collaborating with top people in the radio world, as well as working on projects for high profile channels that would air on Sirius XM. Some of these projects included names such as Garth Brooks, Billy Joel, Pearl Jam, The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Barbara Streisand, etc. Additionally, while with SiriusXM, Dan was a large contributor to helping build and air a brand new channel on Sirius XM, writing and recording original background music to use on certain stations, and also had his voice featured both as a singer and voice over talent on some of their channels.
After being with Sirius for a while, Dan was approached by radio industry giant, Cumulus Media/WestWood One Radio, for a job opportunity that he could not refuse, as it opened doors that would allow him to once again pursue his original artist career. Since working with Cumulus and WWO, Dan has produced promos, audio segments, and other forms of production pieces for clients such as AEG Live, Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and for artists such as Celine Dion, Rod Stewart, John Fogerty, and for thousands of radio stations across the United States.
Dan has been working hard to learn many different aspects of the music and entertainment industry, as he believes that having such a diverse background is what can help lead to success with his career in music. "Knowing how all of the different parts of the industry work together is incredibly important to learning how to be successful in it" says Dan. "I have spent so much time behind the scenes; now is time to get back in the spotlight and show everyone what I've got". It is this mindset that has brought Dan to the point he is at now, feeling certain that it is time to start creating and putting his music out for the world to hear again, which is why his first EP was appropriately named "Spotlight". "Spotlight" is about working towards embracing and overcoming insecurities and any worries that someone may have regarding judgement or acceptance, and simply stepping into the foreground and just going for it.
Dan's new song "Say Goodbye" goes back to his roots and his new music can be expected to be a raw, true Dan Toth sound that people who know him will be familiar with. New music soon--make sure to keep checkin in for updates!
